What a tough couple years we have been through. Everyone seems more stressed, anxious and depressed than normal and statistics back that up. Rates of depression, anxiety and burnout are higher than they have been in a long time. Seeing the stats, especially for teens is alarming and leads us to need to do something about it. At OVERCOME, parents, teachers and teens will hear messages from people not only on how to overcome these struggles, but how to develop skills to overcome future adversity in life. Teachers and parents will benefit from hearing Dr. Peter Newhouse on recognizing signs of struggling teens and how to help them overcome those struggles. Parents will also have the opportunity to hear the same message as the teens as Nathan Harmon, an inspirational speaker known nationally for a willingness to go after the hard topics such as growing up in a broken family, anxiety, depression, addiction, suicidal thoughts, overcoming difficult circumstances and others. Teens will also have the opportunity to hear from a professional skateboarder and beatboxer who is also a pastor. Trevor grow up skateboarding and has experienced bullying but found that in his faith in God that what people think of him is irrelevant compared to how God sees him. If you need motivation, are struggling with negativity or have or know of a teen that is struggling with any of these things, this event is for you! We would love to have you join us on October 23rd to realize, that if we struggle, then we are not alone. It's been a tough year, but our circumstances do not own us or decide our future! Are you ready to overcome?
