SELWDH, Londonwide LMC and SLaM are working together to provide South East London primary care staff with access to Oliver McGowan training. SELWDH will manage bookings for these sessions, while the training itself will be delivered by an external provider.

Course Aims:

  • Enhance learners’ understanding of autism, best practice in a health and social care setting and understand how this is supported by current legislation.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand why autism is described as an invisible condition
  • Reflect on our own values and beliefs
  • Recognise potential differences, strengths and challenges for autistic people
  • Identify potential triggers for anxiety
  • Identify reasonable adjustments and ways to adapt your practice
  • Be familiar with legislation and resources for inclusive enabling services

To help avoid any issues with attendance being recorded, please adhere to the following instructions:

  • Do not share your Tier 1 webinar link with anyone else. If more than 40 people attend, additional attendees cannot be admitted.
  • Join the session using your work laptop where possible, and log in with your work account.
  • Ensure you provide your correct name, email address, and employing organisation during the session. This is essential for certificates and attendance records.
  • Only one person should attend per link, otherwise attendance will not be recorded correctly.
