Join New Berlin Emergency Management and Milwaukee/Waukesha ARES for a hands-on, full-scale Emergency Shelter Exercise at Eisenhower School — a designated shelter location in New Berlin.

Like many large facilities, Eisenhower School presents unique communications challenges. This exercise is designed to simulate real-world emergency shelter operations, with a strong focus on establishing reliable radio and data communications in a complex environment.

Participants invited include personnel from:

• Emergency Management

• Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES)

• Red Cross

• Salvation Army

Together, we will:

• Set up and test radio communications systems

• Deploy and evaluate data communications capabilities

• Identify coverage gaps and infrastructure limitations

• Collaborate across agencies to strengthen coordination

• Develop practical solutions to improve readiness

The primary goal is to evaluate what works, identify what doesn’t, and work collaboratively to close communications gaps before a real emergency occurs.

This is a valuable opportunity to build relationships, improve interoperability, and strengthen our community’s emergency response capabilities.
