Our mission to out of this world STEM arts and crafts fun is ready to launch! Join our astronaut engineer mission to 3D design and print starships from our favorite movies, build solar-powered space stations, and design fashionable and functional spacesuits for the on-trend astronaut. We’ll build, launch and test our rockets for safety, speed, and orbital trajectory, and we’ll craft a Mars colony farm and biome ecosystem from Minecraft Redstone circuit blocks. We’ll discover and experiment with microorganisms from our own classroom environment and create advanced alien species that might evolve from them with clay. Along the way, we’ll solve real-world engineering problems by building rocket-safe parachutes, multiplanet-ready geodesic dome homes, and a terraforming Mars Rover from a cute light-up LED microcontroller that identifies water and plants seeds. And we’ll join Drone Pilot School to take flight and explore new worlds. To commemorate our journey we’ll design and 3D print personalized NASA mission patch medallions for our backpacks. Calling all carbon-based life forms–we are imagining and building our sustainable future in space! 3, 2, 1…blast off!
Projects we'll Create!
Hands-On Art & Space Engineering: Craft paper rockets, baking soda and vinegar boosters, an egg lander/shock absorbing parachute, and maybe even a catapult and a rocket spinster with parachute. Create our own clay space characters, imaginary alien creatures, beasts, animals and monsters that you’ll find when exploring new worlds in unknown galaxies.
3D Printing Pen Hands-on Designs: Create and adapt 3D printed parts for your robot competitions, alien planet surfaces to explore new lands far away from Earth and badges for all your NASA exploration mission crew members.
Drone Pilot School: Go to Drone Pilot School and take on new planet surface exploration and new species research and compete in friendly races to practice timed search and rescue missions.
Scratch Coding & Game Design: Simulate the rotation motion of different planets, test the orbits, and chart constellations of stars.
3D Design in Space with Tinkercad: 3D design all the famous starships from your favorite movie that you can imagine and even implement your own designs on a race against the Millennial Falcon. 3D design NASA and SpaceX-inspired rockets, launch platforms in Tinkercad and defense systems for human colonies on unknown solar systems and prepare a Mars rover prototype using Micro:bit Cutebot.
MaKey MaKey Microcontrollers: Build microcontroller games with MaKey MaKey and transform everything around you into circuits for your projects to communicate with intelligent life forms in other galaxies using an alien beatbox.
