This workshop is organised by Mission Resourcing to support local church leaders to feel equipped for conversations with their young people, particularly around the State Youth Conference (being held on 21st September). The workshop will be hosted and presented by BKT - Big Kids' Table.
Topics will include:
- Understanding the personal influences and experiences that we each bring to the conversation
- Cultural analysis of secular and church cultures (including pornography and sexualisation)
- Pornography and the sexualisation of culture
- Who is BKT and what do we do?
- How to have holistic and on-going conversations.
This session will finish with Q&A.
Big Kids’ Table exists to be an informative, loving perspective and to create safe, honest conversations about Kingdom identity and sexuality for youth and young adults of faith. They intentionally do not hold a position on matters of gender and sexuality. BKT uses a worldview exploration method in all of their workshops, exploring a secular and a Christian worldview about sex and relationships and then tasking young people to work out what they believe. They do not teach, pressure or force a perspective, they generate conversations.
