About Organizer

Melissa Sisk Organizer name

The Homestead Expo is organized by Anne Trokey and Melissa Sisk, two longtime community builders with deep roots in education, homesteading, and local food systems. Together, they bring years of hands-on experience in gardening, foraging, small-scale agriculture, and grassroots event planning. Their shared goal is to create an accessible, practical event where people can learn real skills, ask real questions, and connect with educators and vendors who are doing the work. The Expo is intentionally community-first: affordable, welcoming, and focused on usable knowledge rather than trends or hype. Anne and Melissa believe strongly that resilient communities are built through shared skills, local relationships, and learning that’s grounded in lived experience.
