This workshop explores behavioral changes that have been proven beneficial in the management of GDM, as well as the prevention of Type 2 Diabetes. Discussion will include research findings on motivation, habit formation, and environmental factors that influence health related behaviors. You will walk away with tips and tricks to assist women in their efforts to maintain health throughout their pregnancies and the rest of their lives.
Mel Bailey is a nurse, midwife, and Certified Health Coach from Mt. Pleasant, MI. She has worked for the past 8 years as a Health Promotion Educator in an urban community center. Mel is a Lifestyle Coach and Master Trainer for the National Diabetes Prevention Program (CDC/NIH), and a Leader/Master Trainer for the Diabetes Self-Management Program (Stanford/SMRC). She is the founder of Wellness Within, which provides individualized wellness guidance for those seeking the healthiest pregnancy possible.
