Planning for Helping Teachers Close the Knowing-Doing Gap



How do we use the end of the school year to set up things for success in the coming school year? The coming weeks will be ripe to do it think about systemizing the change management process to help teachers close the knowing-doing gap. every year. 

 

In February and March,  300 instructional coaches gathered for the Ready for Rigor four session masterclass series, Beyond the Book Study: XXX to learn tools and processes for helping teachers implement culturally responsive teaching in ways that pushed them past superficial engagement strategies or relationship building activities. 

 

In this masterclass, we’ll look at instructional leadership to close the knowing-doing gap through the principles of change management.  

 

In this free, 75- minute master class, Zaretta Hammond will share with instructional leaders ideas and tools to take into their summer planning for starting next year focused on….

Zaretta Hammond, M.A. is a teacher educator and national education consultant. She is the author of Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain: Promoting Authentic Engagement and Rigor for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students (Corwin, 2015). Ms. Hammond is a former high school and community college writing instructor. For the past 25 years, she has supported schools and other institutions in deepening their understanding of the integration of culturally responsive practices, the science of reading, and the science of learning.
