Dear community,
With you and with our fellow citizens, we have watched in horror the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and Daunte Wright. Words are inadequate to express the visceral response to the violence perpetrated against Black people by those sworn with upholding the peace and justice of our communities. Those who protest are voicing centuries of justifiable anger.
The mission for this event is to breakdown ethnic and cultural barriers to resources offered to individuals, families, allies and friends of LGBTQ people of color primarily within the Twin Cities and surrounding communities.
To create bridges between diverse groups of people of color, different cultures and mainstream LGBTQ associations to address the homeless youth crisis and cultivate networking opportunities for the many services and community organizations that serve LGBTQ people of color.
We intend to create a consciousness for LGBTQ people of color, homeless youth and supporting allies by offering everyone a “S.L.I.C.E.” of Pride. The foundation building blocks for creating a stronger, empowered and well-informed community.
1. “SOCIABILITY” Sharing experiences, embracing individual cultures, mentoring our youth & strengthen our community bonds.
2. “LITERARY” Acknowledge literary works and the accomplishments by LGBTQ and non-LGBTQ people of color. Promote cultural history and ethnic diversity.
3. “INCLUSION” Including all. Building with all. A cohesive progressive environment.
4. “CHARITY” Supporting efforts to make programs more visible and accessible.

5. “EDUCATION” Empower and respectfully pushing those who are not aware of their strengths and potential. Establish a dialogue with our LGBTQ community and the communities at large.
