Along with the rest of the world, Europe is at a turning point. We are navigating multiple transitions that are putting our values, economic models, and agility to the test. The values we place at the core of our decision-making today will determine whether the green, digital and social transitions are taking us where we hope to be in the long term. That hoped-for future itself is clearly already far from what our predecessors may have hoped for us.
As we face the fact that we have breached two- thrids of our planetary boundaries, how do we make sure that the response is guided by inclusion, dignity, and intergenerational justice? The social and circular economy can be a powerful framework for systematic change, but how can we translate long-term visions into concrete and collective steps that drive tangible progress in the here and now?
We are delighted to invite you to explore these questions and more at the RREUSE conference "Lost in transition? A compass for an inclusive circular economy".
Social and circular economy representatives from across Europe who are navigating similar challenges and opportunities in building a circular economy grounded in social value will be joined by external speakers and participants from the private sector, foundations, public authorities, academia and civil society.
Together with our Italian member Rete 14 Luglio, we aim to deepen our understanding of how circular and social policies play out in different local realities and shine a spotlight on Italy’s vibrant solidarity economy and circular sector. Together, RREUSE network members and external speakers and participants will aim to create a shared compass anchored in common values but responsive to diverse national contexts.
- On 22 October, we will welcome external speakers to paint the big picture of the transitions we are undergoing, followed by a series of afternoon deep dives into strategic, specific areas.
- On 23 October, we will continue with a site visit to a local social and circular enterprise and an exchange on the ongoing textiles crisis and current policymaking in this area. The public event will conclude with a lunch reception.
RREUSE network members will continue the day with internal strategising and hold a General Assembly and Board of Directors meeting on 24 October.

Insieme al resto del mondo, anche l'Europa si trova a un punto di svolta. Stiamo attraversando svariate transizioni che mettono alla prova i nostri valori, i nostri modelli economici e la nostra agilità. I valori che poniamo al centro delle nostre decisioni odierne determineranno se la transizione verde, digitale e sociale ci porterá dove speriamo di arrivare nel lungo termine. Quel futuro auspicato è chiaramente già lontano da quello che i nostri predecessori avrebbero sperato per noi.
Di fronte al fatto che abbiamo superato i due terzi dei limiti del nostro pianeta, come possiamo garantire una risposta guidata dall'inclusione, dalla dignità e dalla giustizia intergenerazionale? L'economia sociale e circolare può essere un quadro potente per un cambiamento sistemico, ma come possiamo tradurre le visioni a lungo termine in passi concreti e collettivi che portino a progressi tangibili qui ed ora?
Siamo lieti di invitarvi a esplorare queste e altre domande alla conferenza di RREUSE “Lost in transition? A compass for an inclusive circular economy” (Persi nella transizione? Una bussola per un'economia circolare inclusiva).
Rappresentanti dell'economia sociale e circolare di tutta Europa, che stanno navigando sfide e opportunità simili nella costruzione di un'economia circolare fondata sul valore sociale, saranno presenti a fianco di relatori esterni e partecipanti provenienti dal settore privato, fondazioni, autorità pubbliche, il mondo accademico e la società civile.
Insieme al nostro membro italiano Rete 14 Luglio, il nostro obiettivo sará approfondire come le politiche circolari e sociali si sviluppano nelle diverse realtà locali e puntare i riflettori sull'economia solidale e sul settore circolare in Italia. Insieme, i membri della rete RREUSE, i relatori esterni e i partecipanti creeranno una bussola comune ancorata a valori condivisi ma allo stesso tempo sensibile ai diversi contesti nazionali.
- Il 22 ottobre daremo il benvenuto a relatori esterni che dipingeranno il quadro generale delle transizioni che stiamo vivendo, seguito da una serie di approfondimenti pomeridiani su aree strategiche.
- Il 23 ottobre continueremo con una visita in loco a un'impresa sociale e circolare locale e con un confronto sulla crisi del settore tessile e sulle attuali politiche in questo campo. L'evento pubblico si concluderà infine con un pranzo.
I membri di RREUSE proseguiranno la giornata del 23 ottobre con una sessione di strategia interna e terranno l'Assemblea Generale e la riunione del Consiglio di Amministrazione il 24 ottobre.
