PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR YOU AND YOUR TEAM

Articles to Read:

Questions to Consider:

  • What benefits have you found by focusing on your own personal development?
  • Which roles are critical to evaluate potential/intelligence/leadership?  Are there any which aren't?
  • How can we as leaders support the development of our teams?
  • What are some obstacles that you feel are deterrents to your development goals?  How can you overcome them?

SOS Children's Villages Illinois will host Leadership Lunch & Learns on the second Wednesday of each month from 12:30-1:30pm.  The March Lunch & Learn will be hosted in person at Casa Tepeyac.

To participate, please be sure to:

  • Read the article(s) before the lunch & learn, and be prepared to discuss.
  • Bring questions, real-life examples, and lessons you've learned to the table.
  • Bring a scrumptuous lunch so you can make everyone else jealous of the tastiness you are enjoying.

About the Leadership Lunch & Learn Series

The Leadership Lunch & Learn series is open to all current and prospective supervisory/management staff; if you lead a team now or hope to in the future, this class is for you!

What is the Leadership Lunch & Learn series?
This series is an opportunity for staff to collaborate, network, and learn from each other in a relaxed atmosphere.  It is not a class, but rather a conversation between colleagues providing ideas, insights, and strategies about being an effective, inspiring leader.

Is this mandatory?
NO!  This is not a required training but instead an opportunity for staff to interact and develop skills and strategies that will be useful in a leadership role.  Attendance is optional, and attending one session does not mean you have to attend all of them.  Each Lunch & Learn stands on its own.

What is the time commitment required to participate?
Each Lunch & Learn should last about 1 hour, and they will be hosted monthly.  Participants are expected to read & review recommended articles prior to each meeting, and be prepared to discuss the reading at the Lunch and Learn.  Preparation should take less than one hour, for a time commitment of about 1 hour each month.
