Kizomba Tá Doce Connection Weekender

This Memorial Day Weekend, Kizomba Tá Doce and GreenThumbz Consulting will host a 22 hour Dance-A-Thon in order to raise awareness of the 22 Veterans that commit suicide every day. As a Veteran of the Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Travis is afflicted with symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Mr. Peters has found dancing to be a great way to combat the effects of this illness. Travis discovered Kizomba during a weekly outdoor gathering of local dancers at Hart Plaza the summer of 2017. Kizomba is a partner dance from Angola that has spread throughout Europe and is now growing in popularity in the United States. Mr. Peters joined in on classes and events in the Detroit area, as he noticed that dancing became a positive activity in his life, aiding him in letting go of stressors and allowing himself to be more involved with others.
