Lee Mattingly, Chief Instructor,  is a Certified Instructor through various organizations and offers the Concealed Carry 101 program, approved by the Kentucky State Police as meeting the training requirements required by KRS 237.110 (4)(i).

 

Lee is also a NRA Certified Range Safety Officer.  & Trainers of Kentucky and the In addition, he is a member of the Professional Firearms Instructors Association of America and the Asssociation of Defensive Shooting Instructors.

 

The course is designed to be a complete introduction to the care and shooting of handguns.  With us, you will receive the training and instruction you expect and pay for.

 

Answers to some frequently asked questions:  

You do not need to own a gun.

You do not need to have shot a gun before.

You DO need ammunition which can be purchased at Wal-Mart or any gun store or purchased from us at cost.

You will receive an email and phone call upon registering from our instructors to answer all your questions and give you an overview of the class.

COST:  $75 per person (which includes range fee to indoor range)

Requirements

- Must not have a felony conviction.

- Must not have a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction.

- Must not have 2 or more DUI convictions in the last 3 years.

- Must not have a dishonorable discharge from the military.

- Must pass a written exam with 70% accuracy.

- Must pass a shooting course of fire of 11 out of 20 rounds into

   a silhouette target from 7 yards.

Lee Mattingly, Owner/Instructor of Make Ready Defensive Training, is a certified Firearms Instructor by the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training, NRA Pistol Instructor, NRA Refuse to Be A Victim Instructor, and NRA Certified Range Safety Officer. He has over 35 years of experience with firearms and firearm safety. From a very young age, he grew a love of the shooting sports and hunting. Knowing that there is always more to learn, Lee continues his education by taking additional firearm and personal defense training. Lee is dedicated to providing a productive and educational service to all of his students while at the same time creating a fun, non-intimidating atmosphere. Lee understands that not everyone has an extensive knowledge of firearms. On the other hand, he knows that some students are very proficient in the use of firearms and he respects both sides of the spectrum. He strives to offer a class that is beneficial to everyone, regardless of experience.
