This session will explore the tax implications stemming from recent legislative changes and tax cases and discuss how they apply to professional advisors and your clients.

Following a general overview of U.S. individual taxation, David will discuss the U.S. tax effects of typical Canadian transactions, including incorporations, share exchanges and corporate distributions. This session will also include a summary of the U.S. anti-deferral regimes, typical U.S. tax reporting and a summary of new U.S. tax legislation.
