Have you been listening to jazz musicians and wonder how they come up with the incredible improvised solos that they do? Perhaps you’ve done some soloing yourself but feel as though you don’t quite understand how it all works. Maybe you’ve never played jazz at all but are really interested in learning more.
Improvisation is at the very core of Jazz Music, and although it seems like a complete mystery to many, there are logical steps to take as a beginning soloist. Blues scales, using the melody and understanding chords within a major scale are a few concepts that will be explored, while working through a few Jazz standards.
This course will walk you (gently) through these steps and provide you with some guiding principles for your journey to ‘the dark side’!
