ISACA is committed to assisting individuals, companies, and enterprises in identifying and realizing the “positive potential of technology.” ISACA promotes its membership as one of diverse individuals with varied professional backgrounds and expertise. Diversity celebrates the coming together and engagement of individuals with diverse knowledge, experience, backgrounds, and ideas that promote and advance a company or organization’s product or service.
Information technology often argues that technology is bias and discrimination free; however, studies indicate that personal and systemic biases contribute to the production and advancement of technology. From voice recognition to blind-hire applications, technology and the science behind technology, inherit the systemic and individual biases. This session invites participants to examine and discuss how science and technology can realize the positive potential of technology through strategic racial justice initiatives. Participants will engage in an interactive virtual discussion on the positive potential of technology to form a capacity building platform for the organization. Participants will also receive a free guide on how companies can pursue racial justice through antiracism.
