Part I of our exciting intro to web design workshop will teach you the basics of how to write code using the three foundational languages of web design, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. These are the three most important programming languages used by web developers to build the websites and web-based apps and games you use every day. By the end of the workshops, you will have learned the basic elements of web design.

Classes will be held:

April 20, April 22, April 27, April 29, May 4, May 6, May 11, & May 13, 2020 from 7pm - 8:30pm

Here are our top five reasons why our workshops can be a valuable investment in yourself:

  1. You’ll become more versatile and indispensable. Imagine not having to rely on a developer to make small changes to a web page or build a simple email to announce a new product.

  2. Communicate effectively with technical teammates. Be taken seriously by the engineers around you when you learn to speak their language.

  3. Change careers altogether. What if you have a full-blown passion for programming? The world of web development offers healthy job openings and salary potential.

  4. Break into startups. Play a role in bringing new apps and products to life as you collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers.

  5. Improve your logical thinking. Let coding open a door to new reasoning and problem-solving skills. As Steve Jobs said, “Everyone should know how to program a computer because it teaches you how to think.”

Proceeds benefit the CODE313 Viertual STEM Academy Coding Club, which is a free coding club for youth ages 7-17.

CODE313 offers individuals the foundational skills needed to create using today’s technology. These are the same skills that are currently shaping the global economy and creating jobs in the United States. The future of this country depends on exposing every generation to the latest technology and innovation, which is CODE313’s mission. CODE313 is run and operated primarily of Metro Detroit-based professionals working in the technology and related industries. CODE313 is a Michigan Non-profit organization
