This trip will provide an introduction to trad climbing. We will cover movement skills, gear placement on the ground, gear placement while leading, and anchor construction. The goal of the course is to give the students the fundamental skills to be able to practice on their own. Students should be confident leading sport routes outdoors up to 5.8.
The course will be held at Jackson Falls. We will meet in the main parking lot at 7am on Saturday to try to beat the heat of the day. Participants should find their own accomodations. There is primitive camping with a pit toilet but no running water just off the main parking lot.
