Join us for an immersive entomology field day at Tramore Strand, where participants who have previously completed an NBDC workshop will have the opportunity to explore and identify a fascinating array of insect species with the guidance of an expert entomologist.
During the day, you'll visit various habitats around Tramore Strand, including coastal dunes and saltmarshes, to observe, collect, and identify native insect species. Expert guidance will help you recognise key features for accurate identification and deepen your understanding of the ecological roles of different insect species in this unique coastal environment.
Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch.
Clothing: Sturdy walking boots. Please dress appropriately for the weather and outdoor terrain.
Health & Safety: Please be mindful that this workshop includes an element of teaching outdoors. Warm waterproof clothing and good walking footwear are essential. As a rule of thumb, it is generally expected that any participants who sign up for a workshop that involves spending time in the outdoors will own and bring the appropriate outdoor clothing. A risk assessment for this event has been completed and participants are asked to listen carefully to the safety briefings that are delivered on the day.
Kindly note that the event may be cancelled if the minimum registration requirement of 10 is not met or in adverse weather conditions.
