RSM and our friends at Emerson Electric are partnering together to create a memorable event to celebrate LGBTQ+ pride month. We will invite clients, partners, and colleagues to join us for networking and to listen to speakers on the following inclusion topics:

    • Multi-generational workforce. There are at least four generational groups in most workplaces, which means professional interactions are more confusing. The newest generation in the workforce uses technology very differently, and their behaviors and attitudes toward communication, work, and diversity are unlike those of any previous generation. Speaker and author Jamie Belinne well help us learn about the differences between each generation and ensure that everyone feels included, retained, and valuable.
    • Inclusion in the workplace. Emmett Schelling, Executive Director of the Transgender Education Network of Texas will present on the topic of inclusion for all employees and creating a safe space for LGBTQ+ professionals in the workplace. Learn about ways to create allyship and success stories of bringing a multidimensional workforce together.

This event is hosted by each company’s LGBTQ+ employee resource/network groups. These groups share a mission to promote an inclusive culture and empowers its members to be their authentic selves through leadership education, business development training, networking opportunities and LBGTQ+ community activities. Each group promotes diversity and inclusion overall, regardless of any affiliations.

RSM's Pride employee network group (ENG) promotes an LGBTQ+ inclusive culture and empowers its members to be their authentic selves through leadership education, business development training, networking opportunities and LBGTQ+ community activities. Pride works to enhance understanding of issues faced in the workplace by LGBTQ+ individuals, and finds avenues to model “bringing your whole self to work.” The network sponsors activities throughout the year that are open to all, and its Pride Month event provides opportunities for employees and RSM leaders to share their coming-out stories. Pride also supports recruiting and hiring efforts by working with LGBTQ+ groups on college and university campuses. Every year, we participate in the Out & Equal Workplace Summit, which features workshops, expert panels, networking mixers and plenaries with keynotes from prominent LGBTQ+ and ally leaders. Through Out & Equal, Pride members have access to executive leadership development, training and consultation, and professional networking opportunities that build inclusive and welcoming work environments.
