AHA collective, 31, Yerevan, Yerevan, 0002, Armenia.

In the framework of the exhibition dedicated to Herman Vahramian’s graphic works, AHA collective is pleased to host a talk by Milan-based conservator architect Gaianè Casnati on the lifelong dedication of Vahramian to Armenian art and architecture. From the first scientific series on Armenian architecture published from the 1960s to the 1990s with the Politecnico di Milano and the National Academy of Sciences of the Armenian S.S.R., to the international symposia on Armenian Art and a number of multilingual publications realized through the cultural institutes I/COM and Oemme Edizioni, touching architecture, art, photography, history, music, and culinary traditions, Vahramian’s meticulous editorial vision laid the foundations for a transnational and interdisciplinary understanding of Armenian built heritage, artistic practices, and sociocultural narratives. In her talk, Casnati will reflect on this pioneering legacy and present the new center SIREH (Center for the Study, Preservation and Enhancement of Armenian Cultural Heritage), that she co-founded in Armenia with an international group of experts as a continuation of this intellectual and cultural mission and in response to the on-going threats of cultural erasure and history falsification Armenians are facing.

About Organizer

AHA collective Organizer name

AHA collective is a curatorial practice engaged internationally, rooted in Yerevan, Armenia. Founded in 2019 by curator and art historian Nairi Khatchadourian, AHA collective aims at conceiving projects in a way so they foster collaboration, investigate local resources and know-how, become a subject of conversation, of the society, of today and tomorrow. We manage, curate, and commission research, artworks, exhibitions, publications, design, audiovisual works, site-specific installations. We love working with tangible and intangible cultural heritage, territories, communities, and institutions. AHA’s gallery in Yerevan exhibits and sells works by artists from diverse backgrounds across the modern and contemporary eras, with a strong focus on emerging voices and overlooked figures from Armenia and its diaspora. Through curated exhibitions, public programs, and critical dialogue, the gallery contributes to a broader recognition of Armenian art within the global cultural discourse.
