The Rabbinic Mind - Mishnah with Rabbi David Paskin
The Rabbinic Mind will explore the thinking and reasoning behind the major rabbinic texts. We will ask: Why did the rabbis compose these texts? What functions did they serve in antiquity and what functions do they serve today? What are some of the linguistic and religious tools used in crafting these texts? In this first quarter, we will examine a selection from the early rabbinic texts of the Mishnah.
