VLCI is organizing an exciting and immersive (online) HSP and HLD summit to facilitate a stronger interaction within the science-based formulation community:
- share knowledge about applications in various formulations and get inspired
- stimulate discussions on the benefits and challenges to determine the way forward
- make (new) connections to collaborate and tackle challenges all together
Science-based formulation is becoming very popular and there is a big need to working together and make a bigger impact to change formulation R&D!
The target audience is ingredient suppliers and formulators all over the world in the field of personal/home care, coatings/inks and agrochemicals, but other fields are welcome as well to get inspired.
Register before 1st October to receive your attendee package!
HSP summit 28th October 2025: 100 euro for persons with a license on PrediApps, 200 euro for persons without a license on PrediApps (speakers for free!), tickets via: https://www.eventzilla.net/e/hsp-summit-2138656548
Presentations will be 20 min, with 10 min discussion to facilitate networking, Time zone: CEST
12:30h-12:45h Networking
12:45h-13:00h Welcome
13h-13:30h Sander van Loon (VLCI); The versatility of HSP and further reinforcement.
13:30h-14:00h Steven Abbott (TCNF); Learning from failed HSP predictions.
14:00h-14:30h Adrien Lebeau (University Lille); Predicting Pigment Behavior in Self-Stratifying Coatings Using HSP.
14:30h-15h Christian Schmitz (Hochschule Niederrhein); From Numbers to Predictions - Polarity Parameters and ML in Coating Systems.
15h-15:15h Break
15:15h-15:45h Sander Dubbelman (Henkel); HSP, its practical use in Consumer Goods products and its role in Digital Transformation of R&D of Formulated Products.
15:45h-16:15h Anne Floor den Ouden (Technical University Eindhoven) and Harmanna Hendriks (Covestro); Experimental and Theoretical Investigations into the factors that influence the Radius of Interaction of Polymers in HSP.

16:45h Define groups for the break-out sessions: 3 different groups on; 1. personal/home care, 2. coatings/inks, 3. agrochemicals/others. Brainstorm in each group on the questions below and one person to put the answers in a short presentation to discuss with all participants:
- What are the benefits of using HSP?
- What are challenging topics in HSP?
- How can we overcome the challenges in HSP?
17:00-18:00h Break-out sessions
18:00-18:45h Evaluation of break-out sessions; how to work together to overcome challenges and reinforce HSP, 10 min per group + 5 min of discussion
18:45-19:00h Closure by Sander van Loon (VLCI)
19h Drinks and networking
