TOHealth! in partnership with  Toronto Global would like to invite all economic development and innovation leaders of public-sector, municipal/regional and non-profit organizations in the Toronto Region, to participate in a special Health Cluster Economic Development Roundtable event on Monday, April 15th, 2019.

In partnership with Toronto Global,  TOHealth! is hosting this Roundtable meeting and consultation with the Leaders of Economic Development groups across the GTA who have identified the Health Science sector as a strategic opportunity for economic growth. The roundtable will facilitate important discussions and encourage participants to engage together, share updates with fellow peers and colleagues, showcase key health science assets and regional strengths, and discuss the challenges and opportunities.

Our goal is to augment the Health Cluster’s innovation capacity and business development opportunities within communities.  This session should serve to increase our collective ability to communicate the Toronto Region Health Science opportunity and value proposition on  a global stage, and help strengthen and enhance the global brand of the Toronto Region as a top-tier hub for innovation and investment in Health and Life Sciences.

Draft Agenda:

12:30 – 1:00 pm          Lunch services for registered guests

1:00 – 1:20 pm            Welcome introduction from TOHealth! and Toronto Global 

-        TOHealth! initiatives

-        Toronto Global Life Science FDI Strategy: overview and update

1:20 - 2:30 pm             Quickfire updates from Economic Development & Innovation Leaders for Health Sciences sector, which should include the following: outline top 3 assets in Health Sciences in your region; discuss strengths/gaps and opportunities in your region; what support are you seeking help with to move your goals forward?            

(10 min for each region/municipality; Q&A will follow at the end of session)

2:30 – 3:00 pm           Idea exchange & Discussion: How could the Toronto Region collaborate or partner more effectively to grow our health science cluster, to cross-promote the activities and strategic initiatives of our cluster for a global audience, to contribute to economic development policies and best practices that help attract international companies, researchers and skilled talent to work and invest in Toronto and surrounding regions, and enhance alignment with one another’s economic development and innovation objectives.
