In a detailed 1-hour presentation, Melissa will give you a behind-the-scenes look at forecasting the most dynamic Aurora displays, with advice on how to catch the Aurora, photograph the Aurora, and pinpoint its brightest occurrences. She will also share tips on how to spot Sub-Auroral Arcs, like STEVE, the S.A.R. Arc, and the Giant Blue Ray. There will be plenty of time after the talk, for an optional second hour of discussion.

Melissa F. Kaelin is author of the book "Beyond the 45th Parallel: The Beginner's Guide to Chasing Aurora in the Mid-latitudes." She founded the Michigan Aurora Chasers in 2021, and she co-founded The Aurora Summit in 2017. She is a published Aurora Columnist, an award-winning Science Communicator, and an avid Aurora Chaser who travels the world to catch the Northern Lights.
