Ygam is an award-winning charity with a mission to prevent children and young people from experiencing gaming and gambling harms through awareness raising, education and research. Through a portfolio of evidence-based programmes, they have developed and delivered training and resources for a range of groups who have influence over children and young people, including teachers, sports professionals, youth workers, universities, health professionals and community leaders.
This online training session will equip you with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to help safeguard the children and young people you work with.
Learning outcomes:
- You will understand why young people might game/gamble.
- You will understand what is meant by gaming and gambling related harm.
- You will recognise the signs of gaming and gambling related harm.
- You will know where to go for help and support.
- You will have increased confidence in talking to young people about gaming/gambling.
- This workshop is free to access and fully certified. Attendance will give you access our online Alumni Portal, allowing you to continue learning with us through our broad range of 1-hour deep-dive Alumni workshops. You’ll also receive access to our bank of Alumni Resources which can be downloaded and delivered in sessions at PLCF funded programmes. Resources are provided for children and young people of primary school age, secondary school age, and post-16. Over 1,000 resources are available, varying from education plans mapped to appropriate curricula across the UK, to youth-based sessions and 1:1/small group resource packs.
Who: This session is open to all staff working on PLCF funded programmes who have an interest.
