With more than 15 years of research into the science of hope and more than 20 years as a university professor, Chan Hellman, Ph.D., focuses on sharing the science and power of hope in our ability to overcome trauma and thrive in life. He has worked with numerous human service organizations, corporations, state agencies, school districts and national coalitions to create hope-centered strategic plans.

Dr. Hellman is widely recognized as one of the leading hope scholars in the world. Based upon his evidence-backed research in the science of hope, his Hope Centered curriculum is a registered copyright under the trademark Hope Centered and Trauma Informed®.

In 2021 he presented a TEDx talk and provided a hope workshop in Jane Goodall’s Activating Hope Summit with an estimated 1 million+ participants. Elected officials in Europe and the United Kingdom have begun efforts to implement Dr. Hellman’s strategies and trainings to become cities of hope.

Previous clients include municipalities, school districts, non-profit organizations, privately-held corporations, publicly-traded companies, and governmental agencies.

To date, almost 10,000 individuals have completed Dr. Hellman’s Hope Centered training in the United States and abroad, including participants in Turkey, Germany, Italy, Belgium, England, and Northern Ireland.

Mike Carmona has worked in the oil and gas industry for the past 10 years, first-generation graduate with a bachelor's degree in Geology from Sul Ross State University and a master's degree in petroleum Geology from UTPB. His first job was in oil field maintenance at 18; from there his passion and purpose was formed and accredits his older brother Paul for being bit by the oilfield bug. Raised in Stanton, Texas He chose the Permian Basin as the hub for his business, keeping it local is important - it provides growth and endless opportunities.

Amanda Purvis is a globally recognized thought leader in developmental trauma, childhood adversity, and the power of healing systems. With over two decades of experience in local and international child welfare, Amanda is known for her ability to translate the science of Trust-Based Relational Intervention® into practical, transformative change—from family homes to national systems. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Metropolitan State University and a master’s in criminal justice and criminology from Texas Christian University, where her passion for trauma-informed justice took deep root. 

A dynamic speaker, strategist, and community organizer, Amanda is at her best when partnering with others to design solutions that honor cultural context, human dignity, and lasting impact. Today, Amanda is unlocking hope for thousands of vulnerable children around the world as the Vice President of Global Impact at All God’s Children International. Whether leading policy discussions, equipping front-line workers, or facilitating global collaborations, Amanda brings both head and heart to the work of disrupting trauma for good. 

On a personal note, Amanda is the proud mom of five incredible children and a lovable, extremely personable Bernese mountain dog named Athena. She enjoys early morning walks with her weighted vest, attempting to train said dog, and dabbling in gardening and handyman adventures—with varying degrees of success. She believes in the power of community, the possibility of healing, and that humor and connection are always part of the process.
