This is a continuing education class that provides an overview of the real estate closing process and various elements and issues that affect the process. The class includes a brief review of contract law as it relates to contract drafting and closing. It also includes a broad explanation of how attorneys actually plan and conduct a closing and the use of title insurance in connection with the process. Participants should learn how to recognize and sidestep common contract and closing issues, and how to control the process with the goal of a completed closing with minimal problems or delays.
