Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and AHA collective are pleased to invite you to the film screening of «Guardians of Our Natural Heritage» on October 20th at 7.30PM at AHA collective, programmed in the framework of COP17 on biodiversity taking place in Yerevan.

The film follows the work of eight environmental organizations supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation across Portugal, revealing the people, places and relationships at the heart of nature conservation.

Through beautiful landscapes and the voices of those involved in this shared endeavor, the documentary introduces projects dedicated to protecting habitats and species. It shows how associations, local authorities, schools and communities, including shepherds, farmers and local businesses, work together towards common goals. The film also invites us to reflect on how we care for the places we inhabit and how each of us can contribute to a more sustainable future.

«Guardians of Our Natural Heritage» forms part of the Gulbenkian Natural Heritage initiative, which reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to nature conservation and biodiversity protection in Portugal and Armenia.

Free admission with prior registration. Space is limited, and only registered participants will be admitted. The screening begins promptly at 7:30 PM. Doors will close as late entry will not be possible.

About Organizer

AHA collective Organizer name

AHA collective is a curatorial practice engaged internationally, rooted in Yerevan, Armenia. Founded in 2019 by curator and art historian Nairi Khatchadourian, AHA collective's work is situated at the intersection of contemporary art, independent publishing, critical museology, and placemaking. At the core of AHA collective lies a commitment to curating as a social and political engagement, one that questions institutional frameworks and complex narratives, while reimagining exhibition formats, modes of artistic production and mediation, and exploring the role of placemaking across urban and rural contexts. AHA’s gallery in Yerevan exhibits and sells works by artists from diverse backgrounds across the modern and contemporary eras, with a strong focus on emerging voices and overlooked figures from Armenia and its diaspora. Through curated exhibitions, public programs, and critical dialogue, the gallery contributes to a broader recognition of Armenian art within the global cultural discourse.
