Inside each and every atom, there is a specific code; an arrangement of positive, negative and neutral particles that help to make up each and every element in the Universe! Today, you can harness the power of electrons and use them to do your bidding! (Insert evil supervillain laugh here...)

In today’s ExperiMental Science with Atomic Bob, your child will learn to create a real electromagnet with common household items, learn about the power of electrons and how they can use the controlled power of electrons to create a magnetic field!

MATERIALS: (You will need…)

• - About 2 ft of insulated wire (if you do not have regular wire, you can get this from a thin, unused power cable or a broken phone charger)
• - (Optional: An additional 2ft of uninsulated, thin wire)
• - Wire strippers or scissors
• - Large steel nail or screw
• - Sticky tape
• - Battery (Size AA, AAA or C work best)
• - 2 Paperclips
• - More paperclips, steel push pins, or small steel nuts and bolts
