Ignorance is not a defense, not knowing the law creates legal risk and exposure. This content provides leaders with the essential knowledge needed to make smart and legal people decisions and emphasizes that an organization is responsible for the acts of its management. An overview of applicable federal laws and how some state laws differ will be discussed, but the goal is not to make anyone a legal expert. The focus of this session is to make sure that front-line leadership understands how the laws protect employees, why upholding these laws is important to the company, and most importantly when to ask for help.
