Mount Pleasant Teachers, 3-5 and 6-8 ELA teachers
The purpose of the two-day training is to assist 3-8 grade teachers in implementing language dives using the EL Education curriculum. On the first day of training, teachers will become familiar with the structure and components of Language Dives, and how the use of Langauge Dives can support students to improve their conversation skills, comprehension of complex text, and also develop their writing skills. On the second day, teachers will have the opportunity to observe the use of Language Dives in a summer school third-grade classroom, have the chance to debrief their observation, and time to plan their first Language Dive to implement in fall.
The training will take place at Robert Sanders Elementary, located at 3411 Rocky Mountain Drive, 95127 from 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM.
