Is an approach in the language classroom in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenge. Join us in this interactive session to discuss how we can unlock students content knowledge as well as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communications skills.

17:30 hrs DIFFERENTIATION
There is an important need to match what we teach in the classroom and how we teach it, with the abilities and aptitudes of our learners. In this seminar we will explore the reasons for why differentiation is so important in the language classroom. We will also look at practical strategies and approaches we can take to better able to optimize tangible learning outcomes maximize and our students’ potential.

ABOUT EMMA WALTON
Emma Walton has worked in education in the UK and overseas for over twenty years. Emma’s focus has been on raising standards for the student experience at both operational and strategic levels. She has worked as a teacher, lecturer, teacher-trainer, Director of Studies, School Director, Director of Academic Management, Director of Academic Development and currently Director of Academic Affairs. She also opened a successful Language school in London. In all these roles Emma has been driven by passion for language and the way in which students learn and experience different cultures alongside a drive to motivate and inspire staff to always give their best. Emma studied Humanities at the University of Brighton and has the Cambridge CELTA, the Cambridge Diploma of English Language teaching (DELTA) and the Trinity College Diploma in English Teaching Management (DELTM).
