DTTI Parent Forum is a supportive, skills-based Zoom group created for parents and caregivers raising children impacted by Developmental Trauma (DT). This forum offers a steady, welcoming space to learn, connect, and build confidence—while gaining practical tools you can apply immediately at home.

Each 90-minute session includes teaching, guided discussion, and a dedicated Q&A portion, giving parents the chance to ask real-life parenting questions and receive support grounded in the DTTI model. Meet Your Facilitators: Liz Deardorff, LCSW & Steve Sawyer, LCSW Liz Deardorff and Steve Sawyer bring decades of experience supporting families impacted by developmental trauma, and share a deep commitment to helping parents feel supported, empowered, and never blamed. Together, they create a warm and practical learning space where caregivers can better understand their child’s behaviors through the lens of attachment, nervous system needs, and connection—while gaining tools that can be used immediately at home. With over 16 years of experience, Liz has dedicated her work to helping parents understand what their child may be communicating beneath the surface, while offering compassion, clarity, and steady encouragement. Her goal is for parents to feel less alone and more confident in nurturing their child, creating a more connected and healing family environment. Steve has been working with families for over 25 years, bringing a deeply relational, trauma responsive approach to strengthening family systems. He supports parents in building practical skills rooted in attunement, connection, and repair—always with a focus on hope, resilience, and lasting change. This work matters deeply to Steve because he believes that when caregivers feel truly supported and equipped, the entire family can begin to shift toward safety, trust, and healing. Together, Liz and Steve offer not only clinical wisdom, but genuine care—making the DTTI Parent Forum a place where parents can learn, ask questions, and grow with support every step of the way.
