Jane currently serves as an ADSO-PA in our district and as the VCDR for Division 6.
Jimmin is currently the flotilla commander for Flotilla 04-08 in our district.
He joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary in 1995 and attained the AUXOP status in 2002. He was trained and qualified in the boat crew, air observer, public affairs, instructor, vessel exam, ATON verification, tele-communications, culinary assistance, RBS visitation and marine safety and emergency management programs. He is also a USCG Academy Amissions Partner.
He has served on the 82 ft USCG Cutter Point Brower and the 87 ft Cutter Tern, as an Inport OOD. He is also an Auxiliary Chinese Interpreter and Language Qualification Examiner, and had deployed on the Barque Eagle, High Endurance Cutter Jarvis, Medium Endurance Cutter Spencer, National Security Cutter Midgett, and with the Air National Guard 129th Air Rescue Wing on its black hawk helicopter.
He had been active in disaster relief for the American Red Cross for 35 years, and had taught Advanced level supervisory courses, using the "Situational Leadership" model from 1995 till 2007.
In the 2026 DTRAIN worshop, participants will find out what their dominant leadership styles are; demonstrate an understanding of the different "Situational Leadership" styles, proposed by Keilty, Goldsmith and Blanchard; and how this model help to improve staff satisfaction and unit performance.

Start your voyage to become a Qualified & Certified D11N CG Auxiliary Aid to Navigation (ATON) Verifier PQS. AV-PQS members are tasked with checking all Private Aids to Navigation (PATONs) & surveying Bridges assigned by District 11 on an annual basis. Reporting all discrepancies to Federal ATON and helping ATON units & other Aids to Navigation requests for help as needed. We have around 900 PATONS for verification and 52 Bridges to Survey each year. We can use Help. Bring your printed PQS for sign-offs during the class.

Renamed USS Potomac, the vessel served President Roosevelt until his death in April 1945. Join us for an enjoyable and informative history of the USS Potomac.

Participants will be introduced to the basic skills of situational leadership, first proposed by Keilty, Goldsmith and Blanchard; and as documented in the book "Leadership and the One-Minute Manager." Participants will take a look at how they manage, and learn how to supervise staff in a manner appropriate to situation, taking into considerations of individual needs, abilities and by Blanchard, et al. Participants will look at how they manage, and learn how to supervise motivations, so as to optimize staff satisfaction and unit performance.

“Comms” – short for Communications. This class will benefit boat crew trainees and certified members. Topics will include VHF-FM Radio basics, “Prowords”, Radio “guard”, Comms protocols, Ops Reports, Distress, Urgency, and Safety calls, and Rescue 21. If you are a boat crew trainee or certified crew or coxswain, this class will be an excellent “brush up”.

This will be an interactive session with opportunities to bring up topics and Q &A.
Prerequisites: While not required, some experience running a Zoom meeting is helpful.
Hybrid meetings allow a Flotilla or Division meeting to be held so that everyone can fully participate by being seen and heard regardless of location. This class will review effective equipment setup options and how to run a Hybrid event. Participants in this workshop will get hands on time with equipment and learn techniques to run an engaging hybrid meeting

A common misunderstanding about Cold Water Immersion (CWI) is that it leads quickly to hypothermia. Research shows that other life-threatening events occur before the dangers of hypothermia set in - each with their own challenges. This class will present the 4 phases of response to CWI and how you can be prepared to survive CWI and recognize signs/symptoms to assist others during this potentially life threating situation.

Learn how the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Interpreter Corps supports Coast Guard missions by providing qualified interpreters for operations, public outreach, and emergency response. This class will review the four Core Leadership Competencies: Leading Self /Leading Others / Leading Performance & Change / Leading in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. We will also cover the five Leadership Competency Levels. Discussions regarding why “Leadership Competency” training exists in the Auxiliary and the importance of this training. It is one of the sessions included in the Auxiliary Senior Officer Course (ASOC) and is valuable for all levels of Auxiliary leadership.
We begin with the core of Auxiliary Human Resources—the foundation upon which all subsequent HR activities depend. Our emphasis is on recruiting, onboarding, and preparing new members so they arrive service‑ready and are motivated to train. The FSO‑HR, under the guidance of the FC and VFC, oversees and manages this process. NET‑3 is already driving the cultural shift underway and serves as the lead‑in to this class.

To equip our FCs, FSO-MTs and FSO-HRs to launch an impactful mentoring program or to enhance an existing one; to provide mentors training on best practices, to ensure new members success in becoming confident, capable Auxiliarist; and to learn now to align mentoring efforts with the Net 3 initiative to foster engagement, readiness and retention.
IMPORTANT: A working waterproof, floating VHF-FM radio is required for each participant in the course. NO EXCEPTIONS.Communications is a vital part of the AUXPAD Afloat Program. During this session, we will discuss Radio Guard Requirements, Comms and Position Checks, Lost Communications, Backup Communications, and completing the PQS.
