The Lincoln’s periodic event “Dog Day Afternoon” welcomes dogs  and “Zilker-Bark-ing LA” to the iconic Venice watering hole (www.thelincolnvenice.com) on Saturday July 1st. This event features a visit from dogs up for adoption from Angel City Pit Bulls (https://www.angelcitypits.org) with support from NKLA, an initiative of Best Friends Animal Society (http://nkla.org) and a tour stop in LA from ZilkerBark (http://www.zilkerbark.com), Alex Hopes’ dog photography studio located in Austin, TX. All guests are invited to bring their pooches to the patio, where they can take photos and receive a digital portrait of their pets. Photos are $30 each with appointments made online (http://www.zilkerbark.com/los-angeles) and $35 on the day of the event. A portion of the proceeds will go to local rescue and NKLA partner Angel City Pit Bulls. In order to make guests’ dogs feel right at home on a lazy summer afternoon and evening, the bar will offer dog treats, water bowls, toys, and mixing and mingling in canine camaraderie. In order to make guests feel at home, The Lincoln offers Dog Day Afternoon drinks specials all day, an opportunity to support Angel City Pit Nulls and NKLA, as well as hot dogs! Featured cocktails include Bark at the Moon (Gin, Punt e Mes, Amaretto, Mandarin, Lemon, and Egg); The Hound of the Baskervilles (Vodka, Chartreuse, Grapefruit and Smoked Salt); and The Mystery Machine (Rum, Fernet, Lemon, Pineapple and Mole)—all at $10--and a Rosé flight for $12. In addition, the bar will take donations for the charities on site.
