This workshop will explore the history and contributions of the diverse and intersectional South Asian communities in Canada, highlighting their lived experiences of anti-South Asian racism across various sectors of society and the ways in which these communities have persevered. In addition, it will also touch on the recent spike in hate towards the South Asian community in Canada in particular towards newcomers, such as international students from India and ways in which community partners can help address this form of hate.
