A text is a written or oral speech that has internal coherence. Descriptive, meanwhile, is something that describes something (i.e., that gives information so that people can represent it in your mind).

The descriptive text, in this way, makes a description of some elements. You can focus on a person, an animal, a landscape, an object, or a situation, to name a few possibilities. The enumeration of characteristics is the main feature of the descriptive text.

An example of descriptive text is as follows: "The house was spacious and old. An oak table with four chairs dominated the dining room, the walls of which were painted orange. In the main bedroom, a double bed with an iron headboard stood out. On the other hand, the smallest bedroom had three children's beds". As you can see, this text describes some characteristics of a home.

In addition to everything we have discussed so far, it is essential to know the set of characteristics that identify all descriptive text:

-It is detailed because it must focus on transmitting to those who read it what the element on which it revolves is really like.

-You can resort to the use of individual "licenses" or language tools such as hyperbole.

The descriptive texts can even abound in qualifying adjectives that give it a very subjective tint: "She was a beautiful woman, with golden hair and stunning blue eyes. Her long legs seemed to stretch to infinity, as did her slender arms. Her sculptural body full of curves, on the other hand, made men delirious". In this case, adjectives like "beautiful," "impressive," and "sculptural" contribute to the description that the text makes.

Likewise, it is necessary to be aware of other relevant aspects of this type of text, such as these:

-It has three fundamental functions: define, explain, and incite.

-It always tends towards what objectivity is. And it is that for something it focuses on aspects such as the parts of the element in question, its mission, the operation it has, the utility it has, its main specifications ...

-In its content and logical arrangement of the features listed.

-As a general rule, it is common for many technicalities to be used about the element in question.

The descriptive essay writing is widely used in university academic contexts. In the courses of history, philosophy, economics, law, and politics, among others, many expository works are written. It can also be seen in magazine articles and newspapers, as well as any other means of textual information. There are courses in which monographs must be written.

Exposure what it means is to explain. Its main function is focused on defining, informing, explaining, clarifying, discussing, testing, and recommending something in question. The exhibition logically uses reason and understanding to present the information. In it, the student explains a topic, thing, situation, or event of importance to him. Exposing means answering the following: What is it ?, How is it done ?, What is its significance?, What does it mean ?, When did it happen ?, What is its function ?, and How important is it? As can be seen, these and many more questions can be used that explain something clearly and.

However, the student should avoid falling into situations in which he exposes his points of view since he could be resorting to elements of the argument. Phrases like: "I think or think that" "I think that" "It seems to me that" "I understand that" should be excluded to avoid entering an integration of both types of tests simultaneously.

Construction of the Exhibition:

Introduction:

The purpose and thesis of the writing are established.

It will capture the reader's attention with an impactful sentence, with an anecdote, question, statistical data, quote, definition, or description. It is recommended to avoid presenting a single sentence, but without going to the other extreme, lest the introduction is too long.

Developing

Explanation of the topic.  It can be done by definition, analysis, classification, comparison, or contrast.

At least one paragraph will be written for each subtopic.

Conclusion

You can end with a summary of the most critical points dealt with in work or with a datum or quote used in the introduction.

It is not recommended to end with a moral lesson or with other ideas different from those who worked on in writing.

Example of an expository essay:

The cyclone or hurricane of the Caribbean

Among the various phenomena in the atmosphere that sometimes alter the healthy life of Antillean man, the tropical storm or hurricane is the greatest, most imposing, and devastating. Other events in the region are earth tremors, troughs, tornadoes, droughts, and floods.

The power of tropical cyclones is extraordinary. Their life, sometimes, considerably long, is not counted for hours, but days and when crossing over a region, they leave desolation, misery, hunger, and mourning in many homes.

Tropical cyclones undoubtedly play a vital role in the social, economic, and cultural development of the Caribbean. They threaten the region from June to November with greater possibilities in August, September, and October.
