Audinate will be hosting Dante Certification Levels 1-2 training courses for beginner and intermediate users as well as a class on using Dante with AES67 and ST 2110 standards.
The Dante Certification Level 1 & 2 training at AES will be an abridged version of our on-demand learning at https://audinate.com/certify, focusing on the topics students need most. The test will still be given online either at the convention center or at home. For the best personal education and best scores on Dante Certification tests, it is recommended that students also watch the on-demand version of the class. However, experienced Dante users often pass by simply attending the abridged class.
AVIXA CTS renewal units: The abridged Dante Certification classes are worth two units per level. The on-demand class (which is where the tests are taken) are worth three units. The two can be combined for a total of 5 CTS RUs per level.

Course Descriptions
Dante Certification Level 1, Second Edition, Abridged
Oct 26, 9:15am-11:00am, Room 2D06 & 2D07
Dante Certification Level 1 (2nd Edition) focuses on the skills to design, set up and operate a Dante audio/video system on a single network switch.? This class will establish fundamental skills in audio, video and networking, and offer an introduction to the main tools used in a Dante network.? Demonstrations offer attendees a practical feel for Dante's breadth, reach and simplicity.
The 2nd Edition class is significantly enhanced from the original Dante Certification. This class adds significant educational content on video, making sense of Dante devices with multiple network ports on them, as well as deeper tours of Dante Controller’s screens.?
Dante Certification Level 2, Second Edition, Abridged
Oct 26, 12:30pm-3:00pm, Room 2D06 & 2D07
Pre-requisite – Dante Certification Level 1, Second Edition
Dante Certification Level 2 (2nd Edition) builds the necessary skillset to confidently design, set up, operate and troubleshoot Dante systems that span multiple network switches. A combination of live and pre-recorded demonstrations (due to required scale or elapsed time) will bring these features to life.
This 2nd Edition class is significantly enhanced from the original Dante Certification. It builds a much stronger understanding of networking, traffic management and troubleshooting. This greatly helps technicians manage systems at this level, and it prepares them well for Level 3.?
Practical Demonstrations Integrating Dante, AES67 and ST 2110
Oct 26, 4:00pm-5:00pm, Room 2D06 & 2D07
This class will offer live demonstrations and practical advice for using Dante in an AES67 or ST 2110 space. The class begins with a short explanation of Audinate’s approach to AES67 and ST 2110, demonstrating the operation and diagraming the ways different systems have set things up. A few key points of interest:
- How to set up Dante devices for the strictest JT-NM testing adherence.
- PTPv2 – using GPS clocks, transparent clocking and switches as boundary clocks.
- Creating and Receiving Streams using Dante Domain Manager (DDM)
This class will conclude with some common questions, suggestions when troubleshooting AES67/ST 2110 systems and time for the audience to ask questions.
