Czech Conversation Course

  • Level A1, A2 (Suitable for learners at an elementary to Lower Intermediate level who already have some vocabulary and basic grammar and want to build confidence in everyday conversation)
  • DATES: 30 July – 27 August 2025
  • DURATION: 5 weeks (30 July, 6, 13, 20 and 27 August 2025)
  • DAY & TIME: Wednesday 6.30 – 8.30 pm

The focus of this online course is to improve students’ ability to express themselves in everyday situations and become more confident with normal spoken interaction. The emphasis is on development of students’ conversational skills. Class activities include dialogues, role-plays and games.

Topics to be explored will include: ‘My Family and Other Animals’ (talking about family and friends, expressing likes and dislikes, describing people, talking about hobbies); Let’s Have Fun (arranging a meet up, going to cinema/ theatre/ pub/ restaurant, buying tickets, menu and ordering food in restaurants); Holiday Ahoy! (booking a hotel, transportation, buying tickets, small talk); Oh No! (unexpected situations; at the doctors, formal and informal communication, lost in a city –asking for directions) and Four Seasons in Czech (exploring Czech holidays and traditions, activities we do throughout the year and talking about the weather).
