The Crisis Prevention Institute's Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training provides a two-year certification to staff who successfully complete this course.
Please note, this is a full-day, one-day training at the Chicago Village. Participants should plan to bring lunch, drinks, and a light snack as the training will go from 9am to 5pm. There will be two short breaks and a lunch break.
Participants should dress in professional attire that allows for movement, minimal jewelry, and shoes with a rubber sole. This training will involve being physically active, practicing personal safety techniques, participating in roleplays, and taking a post-test at the conclusion of the course.
Training will start promptly at 9am, and no participants will be admitted after 9:15am. To earn certification, you must:
--Be present, both phsically and mentally, for the duration of the training;
--Participate in discussions and activities;
--Demonstrate physical competency in personal safety techniques;
--Score at least an 80% on the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention post-test.
