British Canoeing Coach Award Tutor and Assessor Orientation Event Programme
Dates:
· Tuesday 24th October 2017 - 1000 start – 1800 finish
· Wednesday 25th October 2017 - 0900 start – 1600 finish
Venue: sportscotland, Caledonia House, 1 Redheughs Rigg, South Gyle, Edinburgh, EH12 9DQ. Parking is available immediately outside on a first come first served basis. Alternative park is available at the Gyle shopping centre nearby but is limited to 4 hours.
Staff: The programme is staffed by British Canoeing Coach Award Trainers Doug Cooper and Lara Cooper, supported by Andy Murray, SCA Head of Coaching and Development and Lee Pooley, British Canoeing Head of Coaching and Qualifications
Logistics: Tea/Coffee and Lunch is included. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know.

The orientation staff will be meeting at Premier Inn restaurant at approx 7pm on both Monday evening and Tuesday evening. All delegates are welcome to join for dinner and/or drinks/discussion afterwards.
Preparation: Further precourse information, reading and some pre-course tasks will be circulated at least 2-weeks before the orientation event.You will need to allocate some time prior to the event to ensure you are able to complete this essential preparation.
The emphasis of this two day orientation programme is to ensure that potential tutors and assessors understand what is required to deliver and assess the coach award programmes. From this you will be set up to start delivering and working through your action plans (where required).
The programme is classroom based and will not involve water-based activities. Here’s an overview of the content we will be covering:
