· Interpret core content of CMMI 2.0 to serve effectively on an appraisal or process improvement team (after taking an appropriate supplemental course, such as Building Development Excellence)
· Describe different ways to implement the CMMI
· Know what it takes to be Maturity Level 2, 3, and beyond
· Know where to find information in the model
· Know how to get started!
C) – What You will get from this Course?
· Online model viewer access for 30 days. Access will typically begin a few days before class
· CMMI Associate exam credit. Passing the exam is now a requirement for v2.0 appraisal team members; exam must be taken within 30 days after the class
· Official CMMI Institute certificate (upon completion)
· Certification as a CMMI Associate upon passing the exam.
· Prerequisite for serving on a CMMI appraisal team.
· Prerequisite for any advanced CMMI training course.

E) – What do I need for this course?
· This course is composed of lectures and class exercise with time allotted for participant questions and discussion. The format of the course requires that students actively participate throughout the duration of the course without missing any class time.
· This course does not require any prerequisites.
· Participants need to bring their laptops and internet access is required throughout the course delivery, to access the online model viewer. We also strongly recommend you also bring a pdf of the model, either on your laptop or in printed form (in case of technology problems).
· Successful completion requires participation in all course activities without missing any classroom time
· Participants not meeting course completion requirement for the Foundations of Capability may not be eligible to attend Building Development Excellence course
· During registration, participants can select between English and Chinese as preferred language for CMMI Associate Exam
· Fees are not refundable once a participant is provided access to the Model viewer
· Early registration is recommended to enable timely access to the Model Viewer
2. CMMI® v2.0: Building Development Excellence (The official CMMI® Institute certified course)
This one-day class builds upon your existing knowledge of CMMI v2.0 to provide you with a basic understanding of the CMMI Development (CMMI-DEV) view of the model.
The Foundations of Capability class is a strict pre-requisite.

· Locate information in the CMMI model related to best practices in engineering and development.
· Use the CMMI Development 2.0 view to effectively assess, improve, and sustain process capability an performance.
· Interpret CMMI-DEV v2.0, to serve effectively on an appraisal or process improvement team
· Know what it takes to be CMMI-DEV Maturity Level 2, 3, and beyond.
· Discuss each of the practice areas unique to CMMI Development v2.0:

· Simply interested in learning about CMMI Development v2.0.
