The issue of climate change is both pressing and complex. As educators we have the responsibility to ensure that not only do we act to make changes, but that we empower our young people to make the right decisions too.

The day will be in two parts - the morning will help you understand the issues and the afternoon will provide you with a wide range of activities you can use with your young people / pupils to help them make the link between what they know, what they can do and how their actions can make a difference.

Plus we will also look at how you can make your school more sustainable.

We will look at the key aspects of climate change and consider questions such as:

- which is better a plastic bag or a paper bag or a bag for life ?

- what is net-zero?

- why is carbon such an issue and why has it become more significant in recent years?

- what have cows got to do with climate change?

- is electricity as green as we think?

- what impact will a warming planet have on food supplies and water?

We promise that the day won’t be doom-laden, but interesting, engaging and enjoyable and you will be able to work with your young people/pupils to address this pressing issue.

All attendees will receive a copy of our activity pack which contains explanatory posters, PowerPoint presentations and materials to use in your school.

The day will be delivered by an academic who has significant experience of working within the climate change arena and schools.
