Cervical Sample Taker course - SWL

• Theoretical training - online modules
• Virtual meetings
• Practical Training - this is delivered over 2 days and will be held face to face at Northside House in Bromley.
• Following the practical training you will complete a PAD with a Smear MENTOR and finally be signed off by an external assessor.
• It is imperative you have access to this. If you are South East London employed we will support you with the external assessor.
• The whole training can take 6 months to complete - all parts are compulsory. Max time for completion of PAD is 9 months from the first day of the course.

Learning Outcomes by the end of this course learners will be able to understand the following -

• The aim of the NHS Cervical Screening programme, NHSCP
• The history of the NHSCSP
• The current statistics and the statistics 
• What are the imporant factors of teh success of the programme?
• What influences uptake?
• What are the barriers preventing people from accessing cytology screening?
• What are the recommended routine screening intervals?
• The reason why unscheduled screening tests should not be carried out?

Who can apply

• Registered Nurses and Midwives
• Registered Nursing Associates
• Physician Associates registered on the Physician Associates Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR)
• General Medical Council (GMC) registered medical doctors.

NB: You need to be employed and have access to an assessor to support the completion of the Practice Assessment Document (PAD)

- 21st November face to face - 9:30am - 15:30pm

- 27th November face to face - 9:30am - 15:30pm
