Event Abstract
In this month’s RAeS Heathrow Branch lecture, the 172 (Haywards Heath) Squadron RAF Air Cadets are bringing their inspiring “Bulldog Reborn” project to share how they restored a retired RAF Bulldog aircraft into a hands-on learning resource.
Since 2018, the cadets have developed real engineering skills through rebuilding and modifying the aircraft, even creating interactive features and flight simulators. The project supports STEM education, community engagement, and has been showcased at major events like the Royal International Air Tattoo.
This event will offer a unique opportunity to hear directly from the RAF cadets about teamwork, innovation, and aviation, and to see how young people are shaping future careers in engineering and aerospace.
This event is part of our programme celebrating the RAeS Heathrow Branch's 70th anniversary. For 70 years, 1956-2026, from local talent to global skies: the Branch has supported the operational heart of Heathrow Airport, its airlines and the local community.
Ahead of the lecture, there will be a brief session for the host of the Royal Aeronautical Society Heathrow Branch 2026 Annual General Meeting.
