I am now qualified with BSUPA (British Stand Up Paddle Association) to teach their BSUPA Level 1 “Ready to Ride” course.  This 2 hour course is aimed at people who have never stand up paddled before or people who have had a go but want to learn the basics and gain confidence on the board.

The course structure is designed to give you the information you need to get on the water safely, have fun and learn the techniques of paddleboarding.

During the course you will be given an introduction to how the weather and environment affects you, how to carry the board and paddle, paddling technique, different types of turns, self rescue and how to fall safely.  You will also learn what you can do next to practice and improve your skills, purchase or hire equipment, and plan expeditions.

My first experience of SUP Yoga was in 2013, and I have never looked back! I practiced regularly in a pool and then on local rivers and lakes, encouraging my friends to join in too. Then in August 2014 I completed a SUP Yoga teacher training course with Gerry Broom at SUPfit in Hove. Since then, I’ve been teaching SUP Yoga and basic paddle technique classes, and also paddle regularly with my husband, Nick, and our friends. Nick and I have some more training on the horizon and have some really exciting events coming up in 2017! My aim is to make yoga in all its forms an enjoyable, accessible and healthy experience for all, and to show my enthusiasm for and dedication to yoga, health, happiness and nature with every moment I teach. When not on the mat, you might spot me exploring the Kentish countryside by foot, bike or paddleboard. In 2016 I did my first SUP triathlon #supbikerun, and am now looking forward to next year’s events, as well as a half marathon! Please cheer me on if you see me out training! I also love spending time with friends and family, experimenting with smoothies and healthy food and simply being in the great outdoors To expand my own practice, and to broaden the knowledge and tools I have to share this path of yoga with others, I dedicated much of the past year (March 2015 to April 2016) to completing a 500-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with esteemed teacher training school, YogaLondon. This included even more anatomy and asana training
