BRMP® Foundation Qualification: PurposeThe BRMP® training and certification program is intended as a comprehensive foundation for Business Relationship Managers at every experience level, with the training and certification designed to provide a solid baseline level of knowledge.BRMP® Foundation Qualification: Target AudienceThis qualification is aimed at those with a Business Relationship Management position or those that need to understand and build out their own ‘relationship management’ capabilities. Additionally, this course is for those within the Business, Provider (internal or external IT/Services), and Consultants looking to gain general insight into Business Relationship Management.BRMP® Foundation Qualification: Learning ObjectivesHolders of the BRM Institute Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP®) credentials will be able to demonstrate their understanding of:The characteristics of the BRM role.What it means to perform as a strategic partner, contributing to business strategy formulation and shaping business demand for the provider’s services.The use of Portfolio Management disciplines and techniques to maximize realized business value.Business Transition Management and the conditions for successful change programs to minimize value leakage.The BRM role in Service Management and alignment of services and service levels with business needs.The principles of effective and persuasive communication.Training and Certification ApproachThe course will be delivered over three days, from 8:30am to 4:30pm, with breaks each morning and afternoon (provided), along with lunch (attendees able to leave and purchase at nearby restaurants).Upon course completion, participants will be eligible to immediately take the BRMP® exam. This takes 40 minutes, comprises 50 questions, with a passing grade of 50%. For those wanting to take the exam at a later time, this can be done at an APMG center or online through the APMG remote proctoring capability (which requires a webcam-enabled computer).I will enrich the course with valuable anecdotes from my many years as a BRM, along with time training and consulting in this area. I will be ready to expand my role from trainer to consultant and/or coach to help your team on your BRM journey, to include leveraging the new Strategic Partnering Approach (SPA) with BRM Institute’s new Playbook.

Carey is a Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM), an Affiliate with The Merlyn Group, and Registered Provider (RP) with the Business Relationship Management (BRM) Institute. He is excited to bring all of the offerings found on Knowledge Path to Success (KPTS) for BRM, and spends a lot of time consulting and coaching organizations as they implement BRM within their companies.
