Influencing can be challenging. Particularly if we don’t feel we have the authority of a specific role, or confidence in our ability to put our message across.
This course focuses on some key principles and skills needed to increase your impact and create positive outcomes, both for yourself and others.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the nature of influence, including what it is and what it isn’t
- Increase your ability to influence through the way you engage with others. This includes both verbally, non-verbally, face to face and remotely
- Understand your own influencing style and how to adapt to others
- Explore a spectrum of key influencing behaviours and when best to use them
- Have techniques to influence in potentially challenging situations. For example, speaking up in meetings, responding to someone in a more powerful position, giving a difficult message
- Understand how to maintain confidence when feeling challenged
- Know how the language of positive influence can boost engagement and personal impact
- Understand your personal influencing strengths and identify opportunities to create greater impact.
Who: You’re a member of an external working or networking group and want to be able to communicate and engage positively with others
You need to have a difficult conversation and want to maintain a constructive working relationship
You need to influence others who are in senior positions or who are important to your organisation’s success. For example, internal leadership, external professionals and partners.
