Photograph Birds of the Trinidadian Rainforest

When: June 12-17, 2018
Where: Trinidad, West Indies

Join professional photographer Jason Odell for a unique all-inclusive birding adventure in the northern mountain rainforest of Trinidad. We will have four days to spend photographing the colorful bird species at and around the Asa Wright Nature Centre and Lodge. We'll also be able to see the unique oilbirds on site at the lodge, plus take a day excursion into the northern mountain range to discover other birds and wildlife. This unique experience includes meals, lodging, and airport transfers and is strictly limited to five photographers. You must have a valid passport to participate in this safari. 


Safari Fee: $2849 per photographer when you book before March 1, 2018 | $2999 per photographer afterwards

Your fee includes the following:

  • 4 days of bird and wildlife photography in Trinidad
  • Image review and critique sessions
  • Post-processing and workflow mentoring
  • One on one techinical and creative support in the field
  • 5 nights single-occupancy lodging at the Asa Wright Nature Centre and Lodge
  • All meals & afternoon tea each day
  • Guided tour of the oilbird cave 
  • Guided field excursion to the northern rainforest
  • Airport transfers to and from Piarco International Airport (POS), Port of Spain, Trinidad

Participants are responsible for:

  • Airfare to Trinidad
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Incidentals

Payment & Refund Policy

Your deposit will hold your space until March 31, 2018.
Final payment is due by April 1, 2018.
If final payment is not received by the due date, you will lose your deposit and your seat will be made available to others.

The safari fee is refundable only in the event that this tour is canceled (minimum group is 3). Deposits are non-refundable unless you purchase trip insurance.
I strongly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment in this event in case you need to cancel for any reason.

About Jason Odell

Jason P. Odell is a professional photographer and educator from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jason specializes in wildlife, landscape, and creative urban themes. He has authored 13 comprehensive photography guides, including guides to Nikon's Capture NX, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Nik Plug-ins.

Jason holds a Ph.D. in biology from the University of California, Riverside. His dissertation research included field work on the island of Trinidad, where he became familiar with many of the interesting bird and wildlife species. 

Jason has been leading small-group photo safaris and tours since 2007. His approach to photography is holistic and includes an emphasis on composition, exposure, and post-processing. Participants in Jason's photo tours get a hands-on instructional experience tailored to their individual needs and skill level.
